Itinerary
Day 1
SALTA Arrive in Salta. Briefing and welcome drinks and explore on foot the city centre and local museums.
Day 2
EARTH Morning drive into the mountains, going from the Yungas cloud forest to a high desert valley: Calchaquí. Arrive at a ceramist’s workshop for lunch, connect with Andean design through active and creative learning. Sleep in Cachi.
Day 3
FLAVOURS Walk through agriculture fields, learn about past and present agriculture traditions, sun dried fruits and species. Cook in a mud oven. Sunset at a winery.
Day 4
PONCHOS At Seclantás learn about weaving, ponchos and the importance of woven art in the Andean world. Regional lunch at a local home. Evening dinner in the colonial courtyard of the Hacienda de Molinos.
Day 5
ALTITUDE WINE The Calchaquí Valley produces quality wines, and has been doing it since the early 1800’s. Arrive in Cafayate driving along Ruta 40.
Day 6
CHEESE Is an intrinsic part of NW Argentina’s culture, a fusion of Spanish and Andean traditions. Local farms, gauchos and horses. Music is a part of our evening dinner.
Day 7
QUEBRADA DE LAS CONCHAS Drive back through red formations. Regional lunch. Farewell to NW Argentina.
